This category follows the same pattern as “the names of Allah, the names of His Book, the names of His Messenger, and the names of His religion.” Allah, exalted is He, says:
“Say, ‘Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever you call upon, to Him belong the most beautiful names.’”
He, exalted is He, also says:
“To Allah belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them, and leave those who deviate concerning His names.”
And Allah, exalted is He, says:
“He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.”
“He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Source of Peace, the Giver of Security, the Guardian, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Supremely Great. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.”
“He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator, the Fashioner. To Him belong the most beautiful names. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.”
All His names agree in referring to His holy Self, while each name also signifies an attribute distinct from that signified by another name. Thus, “the Almighty” signifies His Self together with His might; “the Creator” signifies His Self together with His act of creating; and “the Especially Merciful” signifies His Self together with His mercy. His Self necessarily entails all His attributes. Accordingly, each name signifies His Essence together with the attribute particular to that name through complete signification; either of the two through partial signification; and another attribute through necessary implication.
The same applies to “the names of His Book”: the Quran, the Criterion, the Book, Guidance, Clarification, Healing
