the book of faith
in the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. all praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet.
shaykh al-islam said:
ahmad ibn taymiyyah - may Allah bless his soul -:
in the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. all praise is due to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of ourselves and from our bad deeds. whomever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomever He misguides, none can guide. we bear witness that there is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner, and we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
know that
"faith and islam"
encompass the entire religion, and much has been said about
"the reality of faith and islam"
and their disputes and confusions; volumes have been written on this; and the dispute in this has existed since the emergence of the khawarij among the various sects.
الْجُزْءُ الْسَابِعُ
كِتَابُ الْإِيمَانِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ.
قَالَ شَيْخُ الْإِسْلَامِ:
أَحْمَد ابْنُ تَيْمِيَّة - طَيَّبَ اللَّهُ ثَرَاهُ -:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاَللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَنَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَنَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا.
اعْلَمْ أَنَّ
" الْإِيمَانَ وَالْإِسْلَامَ "
يَجْتَمِعُ فِيهِمَا الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ وَقَدْ كَثُرَ كَلَامُ النَّاسِ فِي
" حَقِيقَةِ الْإِيمَانِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ "
وَنِزَاعُهُمْ وَاضْطِرَابُهُمْ؛ وَقَدْ صُنِّفَتْ فِي ذَلِكَ مُجَلَّدَاتٌ؛ وَالنِّزَاعُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِنْ حِينِ خَرَجَتْ الْخَوَارِجُ بَيْنَ عَامَّةِ الطَّوَائِفِ.
