them,

‘In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.’

He has decreed that they shall not die, and they grow radiant through looking at Him.”

He went on to say:

“He denied that Allah will be seen on the Day of Resurrection only to uphold his misguided and misleading argument. For it is known that, when He reveals Himself to them on the Day of Resurrection, they will behold of Him what they had previously believed in and he had denied.

‘The Muslims said, “O Messenger of Allah, shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?” The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, replied, “Do you have any difficulty seeing the sun when no clouds obscure it?” They said, “No.” He said, “Do you have any difficulty seeing the moon on the night of the full moon when no clouds obscure it?” They said, “No.” He said, “You will see your Lord in the same way.”’

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, also said:

‘The Fire will not become full until the Compeller places His Foot in it. Then it will say, “Enough! Enough!” and its parts will draw together.’

‘He said to Thābit ibn Qays, “Allah has laughed at what you did for your guest last night.”’

He also said—as has reached us from him:

‘Allah laughs at your distress and despair, and at the swiftness with which you are answered.’

‘An Arab man asked him, “Does our Lord indeed laugh?” He replied, “Yes.” The man said, “We shall never lack good from a Lord who laughs.”’

There are other similar reports that we have not enumerated.

Allah Most High said:

‘And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.’

‘And be patient with your Lord’s judgment, for you are under Our Eyes.’

He said:

‘So that you might be brought up under My Eye.’

He said:

‘What prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My two Hands?’

He said:

‘They have not appraised Allah with His true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be within His grasp on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.’
