He was asked:
About people who claim that they see Allah with their own eyes in this world, and that they obtain without asking what Moses obtained by asking.
He replied:
The “early generations of the Muslim community and its leading scholars” unanimously agreed that the believers will see Allah with their own eyes in the Hereafter. They also unanimously agreed that they do not see Him with their own eyes in this world. Their only disagreement concerned the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
It is established in the authentic hadith collection that he said:
“Know that none of you will see his Lord until he dies.”
Anyone who says that the friends of Allah or others see Allah with their own eyes in this world is a misguided innovator, opposing the Quran, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the early generations of the Muslim community. This is especially so if they claim to be superior to Moses. Such people are to be called upon to repent; unless they repent, they are to be put to death. And Allah knows best.
