Ninth: In the authentic hadith, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him; and whoever dislikes meeting Allah, Allah dislikes meeting him.”
Here he stated that Allah loves to meet one servant and dislikes meeting another. This cannot be interpreted as referring to recompense, because Allah does not dislike anyone’s recompense, nor is recompense something Allah meets. Moreover, if He may meet some created thing, such as recompense or anything else, then the servant may meet Him. The objection raised against His meeting the servant applies equally to His meeting all other created things. This, then, amounts to nullifying the text.
Alternatively, if it is said, “Rather, He does meet some of them,” then the Jahmī’s position becomes self-contradictory and collapses. The proofs that this position is false are almost innumerable. The present discussion of this request for a fatwa leaves no room to mention many of them, let alone most.
