Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

into Paradise and saved us from the Fire?” Then the veil will be lifted, and they will look upon Allah. Nothing they have been given will be dearer to them than looking upon Him. This is the increase.’”

His words, “When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire,” encompass men and women, for the term “people” includes both sexes. Moreover, it is known that women are among the people of Paradise.

His words, “O people of Paradise, Allah has made you a promise which He wishes to fulfil for you,” address all the people of Paradise who have entered it and have been promised their reward. This includes all morally accountable women.

Likewise, their words, “Has He not made our scales heavy, brightened our faces, admitted us, and fulfilled His promise?” encompass both sexes.

In his words, “Then the veil will be lifted, and they will look upon Him,” the pronoun refers back to those previously mentioned, encompassing both sexes. The verse cited also provides a further proof, for Allah, glorified be He, says:

“For those who do good is the best reward—and more.”

It is known that women are among those who do good. His subsequent words, “Those are the inhabitants of Paradise,” imply that the inhabitants of Paradise consist exclusively of those people. Since women are among the inhabitants of Paradise, they must be included among “those.” That word refers to those who will receive the best reward and more. Women must therefore be included among those who will receive the best reward and more. This also entails that everyone who belongs to the inhabitants of Paradise has been promised the “increase beyond the best reward,” which is looking upon Allah, glorified be He. No one may be excluded from this without evidence.

No particular time has been specified for this “seeing Him shared by all.” It may occur immediately after they enter Paradise, before they settle into their dwellings. Allah knows best when that will be.
