and included in it words from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) indicating that Jābir heard the entire account from him. It has also been transmitted through authentic chains from Jābir, traced back to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). This hadith has likewise been narrated with a good chain from Ibn Masʿūd, traced back to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), in a version longer than the other hadiths. It has been transmitted through more than one chain.
In the well-known hadith of Abū Razīn al-ʿUqaylī, transmitted through more than one chain, he said:
“We said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, will every one of us see his Lord on the Day of Resurrection?’ He said, ‘Does every one of you see the moon when alone with it?’ They replied, ‘Yes.’ Allah is greater.”
His words, “Every one of you will see his Lord,” are among the most comprehensive expressions, just like his words:
“Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is a shepherd over his household and is responsible for his flock, and a woman is a shepherd over her husband’s property and is responsible for her flock.”
The same applies to his statements:
“Every one of you will see his Lord when alone with Him.”
“There is not one of you but that his Lord will be alone with him, just as each of you is alone with the moon.”
“Every one of you will be spoken to by his Lord, with neither a doorkeeper nor an interpreter between him and his Lord.”
There are other authentic and good hadiths explicitly stating that all people, male and female, share in these matters: “being called to account,” “seeing Allah,” “being alone with Him,” and “being spoken to by Him.”
The same applies to the hadiths about “seeing Him—glorified be He—in Paradise,” such as the report Muslim narrated in his Sahih from Suhayb, who said:
“The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, ‘When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, a caller will proclaim, “O people of Paradise, Allah has made you a promise which He wishes to fulfil for you.” They will say, “What is it?
