this is stated explicitly; and the chain of transmission of Ibn Mas'ūd’s hadith is stronger than all the other chains on this subject. Abū 'Abd Allāh ibn Battah also narrated it in al-Ibānah through another chain from Anas, stronger than the others. It includes the words:
“That is at the time corresponding to your departure from Friday prayer.”
Abū Ahmad ibn 'Adī narrated it through Sālih ibn Hayyān, from Ibn Buraydah, from Anas, but I do not know its wording. Abū 'Amr al-Zāhid narrated it through another chain whose wording I cannot recall. Abū al-'Abbās al-Sarrāj also narrated it: 'Alī ibn Ashyab narrated to us; Abū Badr narrated to us; Ziyād ibn Khaythamah narrated to us, from 'Uthmān ibn Muslim, from Anas ibn Mālik. This version does not contain the addition. Abū Ya'lā al-Mawsilī narrated a similar report in his Musnad, from Shaybān ibn Farrūkh, from al-Sa'q ibn Hazn, from 'Alī ibn al-Hakam al-Bunānī, from Anas, but I do not know its wording.
Abū Bakr al-Bazzār, Abū Bakr al-Khallāl and Ibn Battah narrated it from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamān as traced back to the Prophet. This version does not mention the addition, but states at the end:
“Every seven days, they will have twice what they had before.”
He said: This is what Allah says in His Book:
“No soul knows what delights are kept hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do.”
Al-Ājurrī and Ibn Battah also narrated it from Ibn 'Abbās as traced back to the Prophet. It includes the words:
“Those seated nearest to Him are those who hasten most to Him on Friday and set out earliest.”
It also has another chain from Abū Hurayrah. Al-Tirmidhī and Ibn Mājah narrated it through 'Abd al-Hamīd ibn Abī al-'Ishrīn, from al-Awzā'ī, from Hassān ibn 'Atiyyah, from
