and everything in the heavens and the earth would perpetually be setting.
How, then, can His words make sense on that basis:
“But when it set, he said, ‘I do not love those that set’”?
According to these people who distort the words of Allah Most High and those of His intimate friend Abraham—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—away from their intended meanings, it was setting before it rose, from the moment it rose, and until it disappeared. Likewise, everything in the world, seen and unseen, is setting. Yet the Quran makes clear that when he saw it rising, he said:
“This is my Lord.”
Then, when it subsequently set, he said:
“I do not love those that set.”
And Allah knows best.
{فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ}
؟
{هَذَا رَبِّي}
{لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ}
