I say:

Al-Nasā’ī also narrated it in his book (Amal al-Yawm wa-l-Laylah—Deeds of the Day and Night) through this route, from Muādh ibn Hishām, from his father, from Abū Jafar, from Abū Umāmah Sahl ibn Hunayf, from his uncle Uthmān ibn Hunayf. He also narrated it from Shubah and Hammād ibn Salamah, both from Abū Jafar, from Umārah ibn Khuzaymah. None of these—neither al-Tirmidhī, al-Nasā’ī, nor Ibn Mājah—narrated it through that singular route containing the addition: the route of Shabīb ibn Saīd from Rawh ibn al-Qāsim.

Al-Hākim, however, narrated it in his Mustadrak through both routes. He narrated it from Uthmān ibn Umar: Shubah narrated to us from Abū Jafar al-Madanī, who said: I heard Umārah ibn Khuzaymah relate from Uthmān ibn Hunayf:

“A blind man came to the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and said, ‘Pray to Allah to restore my health.’ He replied, ‘If you wish, I will postpone that, which would be better for you; or, if you wish, I will pray.’ He said, ‘Then pray to Him.’

“He instructed him to perform ablution thoroughly, pray two units of prayer, and make this supplication: ‘O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through Your Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy. O Muhammad, I have turned through you to my Lord concerning this need of mine. O Allah, accept his intercession on my behalf, and accept my intercession concerning him.’”

Al-Hākim said: “It meets the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.”

He then narrated it through Shabīb ibn Saīd al-Habatī and Awn ibn Umārah, from Rawh ibn al-Qāsim, from Abū Jafar al-Laythī al-Madanī, from Abū Umāmah Sahl ibn Hunayf, from his uncle:

“Uthmān ibn Hunayf heard the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—when a blind man came to him and complained of the loss of his sight, saying, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have no one to guide me, and this has become difficult for me.’ He said, ‘Go to the ablution place and perform ablution, then pray two units of prayer. Then say: “O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through Your Prophet
