As for anger alongside pleasure and hatred alongside love, one who possesses these attributes is more perfect than one who shows only pleasure and love, without hatred or anger toward blameworthy things that deserve condemnation and hatred.
For this reason, His being described as giving and withholding, lowering and raising, honoring and humiliating is more perfect than His being described merely as giving, honoring, and raising. For one who also performs the opposite action—when wisdom calls for it—is more perfect than one who performs only one of the two kinds of action and fails to perform the other where it is fitting. Whoever reflects on this subject will find it in accord with sound judgment. And Allah guides those endowed with understanding.
