of them will be alone with Him, just as a man is alone with the moon on the night of the full moon. He will make him acknowledge his sins, and the person being called to account will not think that He is calling anyone else to account.

Likewise, when the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “There is none among you whose Lord will not be alone with him, just as any of you is alone with the moon on the night of the full moon,” Abū Razīn asked him, “O Messenger of Allah, how can that be, when we are many and He is One?” He replied, “I shall tell you of something comparable among Allah’s wonders: each of you sees this moon as being alone with him. Allah is greater!”

A man asked Ibn ‘Abbās, may Allah be pleased with him, “How does Allah call all His servants to account in a single hour?” He replied, “Just as He provides for them in a single hour.”

Likewise, it is established in Sahīh Muslim, on the authority of Abū Hurayrah, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Allah says: ‘I have divided the prayer into two halves between Myself and My servant: half is Mine and half is My servant’s, and My servant shall have what he asks for. When the servant says, “All praise is for Allah, Lord of all worlds,” Allah says, “My servant has praised Me.” When the servant says, “The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,” Allah says, “My servant has extolled Me.” When the servant says, “Master of the Day of Judgment,” Allah says, “My servant has glorified Me.” When the servant says, “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help,” He says, “This is divided into two halves between Myself and My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks for.” When he says, “Guide us to the straight path—the path of those You have blessed, not those who have incurred wrath, nor those who have gone astray,” He says, “These are for My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks for.”’”

He, glorified and exalted, says this to everyone who recites al-Fātihah in prayer. However many units of prayer a person performs, this is said to him. At that same hour, there are people praying and reciting al-Fātihah
