in the land. But who will protect us from Allah’s punishment if it comes upon us?’ Pharaoh said, ‘I show you only what I see, and I guide you only to the right path.’”
“And the man who believed said, ‘O my people, I fear for you a day like that of the confederates—’”
“‘Like what befell the people of Noah, Ād, Thamūd, and those after them. Allah intends no injustice for His servants.’”
“‘O my people, I fear for you the Day of Mutual Calling—’”
“‘The Day you will turn and flee, with no one to protect you from Allah. Whoever Allah leaves astray will have no guide.’”
“‘Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, yet you remained in doubt about what he brought you. Then, when he died, you said, “Allah will never send a messenger after him.” Thus does Allah leave astray whoever is a transgressor and a doubter.’”
“Those who dispute Allah’s signs without any authority having come to them are greatly abhorrent to Allah and to those who believe. Thus does Allah seal the heart of every arrogant tyrant.”
“And Pharaoh said, ‘O Hāmān, build me a lofty tower so that I may reach the ways—’”
“‘The ways into the heavens—and look upon the God of Moses, though I certainly think he is a liar.’ Thus Pharaoh’s evil deeds were made appealing to him, and he was barred from the path. Pharaoh’s plotting led only to ruin.”
Allah Most High also said:
“Indeed, We will surely support Our messengers and those who believe, both in the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses stand forth—”
“The Day when the wrongdoers’ excuses will not benefit them. The curse will be upon them, and theirs will be the worst abode.”
“We certainly gave Moses guidance and caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture—”
“As guidance and a reminder for people of understanding.”
“So be patient; Allah’s promise is certainly true. Ask forgiveness for your sin, and glorify your Lord with praise in the evening and the morning.”
“Indeed, those who dispute Allah’s signs without any authority having come to them have nothing in their hearts but an ambition for greatness which they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.”
