Shaykh al-Islām—may Allah sanctify his soul—said:
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah bless him and grant him peace.
To proceed:
This is an important principle concerning the oneness of Allah and sincerely devoting oneself and one's deeds to Him, in worship and in seeking help. Allah Most High says:
“Say, ‘O Allah, Owner of sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honour whom You will and humble whom You will’”—to the end of the verse.
He Most High also says:
“Whatever blessing you have is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you, it is to Him that you cry out for help.”
He Most High also says:
“If Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him; and if He touches you with good, He has power over all things.”
In another verse, He Most High says:
“If Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him; and if He intends good for you, none can repel His bounty.”
He Most High also says:
“You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.”
He Most High also says:
“So worship Him and put your trust in Him.”
He Most High also says:
“In Him I put my trust, and to Him I turn.”
He Most High also says:
“Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth glorifies Allah. His is the dominion, and His is all praise, and He has power over all things.”
He Most High also says:
“Know, then, that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and seek forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and women.”
He Most High also says:
“Say, ‘Have you considered those you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intends harm for me, can they remove His harm? Or if He intends mercy for me, can they withhold His mercy?’”—to the end of the verse.
