of outstanding merit and the consummate leader through whom Allah made the truth manifest when misguidance appeared, clarified the path, and suppressed the innovations of the innovators, the deviations of those who strayed, and the doubts of the doubters. May Allah have mercy upon him—a foremost imam, an eminent and revered figure, and a great teacher who imparted understanding.

Our position, in summary, is this:

We affirm belief in Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, what they brought from Allah, and what trustworthy narrators transmitted from the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. We reject none of this. Allah is One; there is no deity worthy of worship except Him. He is unique and self-sufficient, and has taken neither consort nor child. Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom He sent with guidance and the religion of truth. Paradise is real, the Hour is coming without doubt, and Allah will resurrect those in the graves.

Allah is established above His Throne, as He said:

“The Most Merciful rose over the Throne.”

In matters over which we differ, we refer back to the Book of our Lord, the Sunnah of our Prophet, and the consensus of the Muslims.’”

Further on, he said:

“Chapter on Rising over the Throne”

Further on, he said:

“If someone asks, ‘What do you say about rising over the Throne?’ he should be told:

‘Allah is established above His Throne, as He said:

“The Most Merciful rose over the Throne.”’
