Shaykh al-Islām—may Allah have mercy on him—was also asked about Allah’s exaltedness above all His creatures.
He replied:
As for Allah Most High being above all His creatures, and His perfection in His most beautiful names and loftiest attributes, the evidence for this in the Book includes His words:
“To Him ascends good speech, and righteous deeds raise it.”
“I will take you and raise you to Me.”
“Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, and then it would quake? Or do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not send against you a storm of stones?”
“Rather, Allah raised him to Himself.”
“The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him.”
“He directs the affairs from heaven to earth; then they ascend to Him.”
“They fear their Lord above them.”
And His words, “Then He established Himself over the Throne,” in six places; and His words:
“The Most Merciful established Himself over the Throne.”
And His words recounting Pharaoh’s statement:
“Pharaoh said, ‘O Hāmān, build me a lofty tower so that I may reach the ways—the ways of the heavens—and look upon the God of Moses.’”
And His words:
“A revelation from One who is All-Wise, Praiseworthy.”
“Sent down from your Lord in truth.”
