the truthful one to that effect.” Allah Most High said:

“O Iblīs, what prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My two Hands?”

And He said:

“Rather, both His Hands are outstretched.”

He cited the authentic hadiths on this subject, including the words found in more than one report of the hadith of intercession:

“O Adam, you are the father of mankind; Allah created you with His Hand.”

And the words in the agreed-upon hadith:

“You are Moses; Allah chose you by speaking to you and inscribed the Tablets for you with His Hand.”

In another wording:

“And He wrote the Torah for you with His Hand.”

And the report in Sahīh Muslim:

“He, glorified be He, planted with His Hand, in the Garden of Eden, the honour reserved for His friends.”

And the saying of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:

“On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will become a single loaf of bread, which the Compeller will turn over with His Hand as one of you turns over his loaf while travelling, as a welcoming provision for the people of Paradise.”

He also cited hadiths containing such sayings as:

“The command is in My Hand.”

“And all good is in Your Hands.”

“By Him in whose Hand is Muhammad’s soul.”

And:

“Allah extends His Hand at night so that those who sinned during the day may repent, and He extends His Hand during the day so that those who sinned during the night may repent.”

And his saying:

“Those who act justly will be with Allah on pulpits of light, to the right of the Most Merciful—and both His Hands are right Hands.”

And his saying:

“Allah will fold up the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then take them in His right Hand and say: ‘I am the King! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?’ Then He will fold up the earths in His left Hand and say: ‘I am the King! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?’”

And his saying:

“Allah’s right Hand is full; no expenditure diminishes it, pouring forth night and day. Have you considered how much He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? It has not diminished what is in His right Hand, and His Throne is upon the water
