It is also inconceivable that this should be so, when the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, taught his community everything—even how to relieve themselves—and said:
“I have left you on a clear, radiant path, whose night is like its day. None will stray from it after me except one doomed to perish.”
He also said, as authentically reported from him:
“Allah never sent a prophet without obliging him to direct his community to the best of what he knew to be good for them and to forbid them from the worst of what he knew to be evil for them.”
Abū Dharr said:
“When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed away, there was not a bird beating its wings in the sky about which he had not imparted some knowledge to us.”
And ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb said:
“The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood among us and described the beginning of creation, continuing until the people of Paradise had entered their dwellings and the people of Hell had entered theirs. Some remembered what he said, while others forgot it.”

Having taught them everything that benefits them in religion, however slight that benefit may be, it is inconceivable that he should have neglected to teach them what to say with their tongues and believe in their hearts concerning their Lord and the One they worship—the Lord of all worlds. Knowledge of Him is the ultimate knowledge, worship of Him the noblest aim, and reaching Him the ultimate object of pursuit.
Indeed, this is the essence of the prophetic call and the very heart of the divine message. How, then, could anyone whose heart contains even the slightest measure of faith and wisdom imagine that the Messenger had not explained this matter with the utmost completeness? And if he did explain it, then it is inconceivable that the best of his community and its finest generations should have fallen short in this matter, either by adding to it or by leaving anything out.
Furthermore, it is also inconceivable that the virtuous generations—the generation among whom the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was sent, then those who followed them, then those who followed them—were not
