for those who repent, by the consensus of the Muslims. As for the claim that this involves a right owed to another human being, it may be answered in two ways:
First: Allah has commanded thieves, those who call others offensive nicknames, and others who commit sins involving people’s rights to repent, as in His saying:
“As for the thief, male or female, cut off their hands in recompense for what they committed, as a deterrent from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”
“But whoever repents after his wrongdoing and reforms, Allah will indeed turn to him in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
He also says:
“And do not insult one another with offensive nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after faith. And whoever does not repent—it is they who are the wrongdoers.”
Part of such a person’s repentance is to compensate the person wronged by doing good to him in proportion to the harm inflicted upon him.
Second: These people act on an interpretation. If the Rāfidī repents of that, acknowledges the virtue of the Companions, loves them, and prays for them, Allah has replaced his evil deed with a good deed, as He does for other sinners.
