He, glorified is He, will Himself speak to His servants on the Day of Resurrection, as related in the authentic collection from ʿAdī ibn Hātim, who reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“There is not one of you but that his Lord, mighty and majestic, will speak to him, with neither a doorkeeper nor an interpreter between them. He will look to his right and see only what he has sent ahead, and look to his left and see only what he has sent ahead. He will look before him, and the Fire will confront him. So whoever among you can protect himself from the Fire, even with half a date, should do so. If he cannot find that, then with a kind word.”
He, glorified is He, is near to those who call upon Him and draws near to those who worship and obey Him. As related in an authentic hadith, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah, the Most High, says: ‘I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than it. If he draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by a cubit. If he draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by an armspan. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.’”
Allah, glorified is He, bestows kindness, bounty and generosity upon His servants, not because He has any need of them. As the Most High says:
“And say, ‘All praise is for Allah, Who has never taken a son, nor has He any partner in His dominion, nor does He need a protector out of weakness.’ And proclaim His greatness.”
He alone calls His servants to account, and He is the One who recompenses them for their deeds:
“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”
He is the One who provides for them, grants them well-being, helps them and guides them; no one other than Him does this. The Most High says:
“Who is there to serve as an army for you, helping you against the Most Merciful? There is nothing
