He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—was asked:
About a man who considers the Jews and Christians superior to the Rāfidah?
He answered:
Praise be to Allah. Everyone who believes in what Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—brought is better than anyone who disbelieves in him, even if that believer adheres to some form of religious innovation, whether that of the Khawārij, Shia, Murji’ah, Qadariyyah, or others. For the disbelief of the Jews and Christians is a matter necessarily known in Islam. If someone who adheres to religious innovation believes that he is following the Messenger—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and not opposing him, he is not thereby a disbeliever in him. Even supposing that he does fall into disbelief, his disbelief is not like that of someone who declares the Messenger—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—to be a liar.
