He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—was asked:
A woman handed a child to another woman while they were in the bathhouse. The woman who took the child did not notice until her breast was in the boy’s mouth. She immediately pulled it away, but did not know whether he had suckled. Is the boy forbidden to marry any of that woman’s daughters?
He replied:
This does not prevent the boy from marrying one of this woman’s daughters, for she is not his nursing mother. According to all four imams, mere doubt does not establish a marriage prohibition. Allah knows best.
