He replied:
If she refuses him marital intimacy or leaves his home without his permission, she is not entitled to maintenance or clothing. Likewise, if he asks her to travel with him and she does not do so, she is not entitled to maintenance or clothing. Whenever she is defiant, disobeying him in matters in which she owes him obedience, he is not obliged to provide her with maintenance or clothing.
He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—was asked:
Concerning a married woman who has relatives whom she visits: whenever she wishes to visit them, she takes the bedding and stays with them for ten days or more. She is now close to giving birth. If she gives birth at their home, she will not be able to return to her own home for several days, leaving her husband cold. Is it permissible for them to let her give birth at their home?
He replied:
It is not lawful for a wife to leave her home without her husband’s permission, nor is it lawful for anyone to take her into their home and keep her away from her husband, whether because she is a wet nurse, a midwife, or engaged in some other occupation. If she leaves her husband’s home without his permission, she is defiant, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger, and deserving of punishment.
