Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

He also said—may Allah have mercy on him:

“Every child is born with the natural disposition.”

For Allah, glorified be He, has created hearts such that, among all they love and desire, none but Allah can give them rest and be their ultimate end. Whenever a person loves anything else, he finds within himself that his heart seeks something beyond it and loves something else to worship, to turn to, and in which to find rest; and he sees other things of its kind that resemble it.

For this reason, He said:

“Surely, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
