He was also asked—may Allah Most High have mercy on him:
A man’s wife died, leaving children and assets in his care, and he cannot afford to marry. May he use the children’s assets to purchase a slave woman who will serve them and with whom he may have intercourse? May he also marry using their wealth?
He answered:
Praise be to Allah. If this does not harm his children, he may take ownership of enough of their wealth to purchase a slave woman with whom he may have intercourse and who will serve them. And Allah knows best.
He was asked:
A woman’s husband gave her what was due to her during his lifetime. She has children by him, and he also gave her a sum beyond her dower for her own benefit and that of her children. If someone brings a claim against her and seeks to have her swear an oath, may she swear to protect herself from injustice?
He answered:
Praise be to Allah. If he gave his children by her a gift and took possession of it, and this involved no injustice to anyone, then it was a valid gift, and no one has the right to take it away
