at its original site serves no purpose recognized by Islamic law and offers no benefit to the endowment’s beneficiaries. Whatever the Lawgiver has not commanded and offers a person no benefit is neither obligatory nor recommended.

Thus, someone purchasing a replacement with the compensation is neither obliged nor recommended to retain the original location. Rather, choosing another location is permissible. It may be recommended, and may even be obligatory when the benefit can only be secured by doing so. And Allah knows best.
