Among the authentic hadiths reported from him is his saying, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:
“By Him in whose hand is my soul, no Jew or Christian among the people to whom I have been sent hears of me and then fails to believe in me without entering the Fire.”
Sa‘īd ibn Jubayr said: “This is confirmed in the Book of Allah Most High:
‘Whoever among the factions disbelieves in it, the Fire is his promised destination.’”
The meaning of this hadith is established through mass transmission from him and is known beyond doubt. Since this is so, it necessarily follows that he is Allah’s Messenger to all groups. For he affirms that he is Allah’s Messenger to the People of the Book and others. Allah’s Messenger does not lie, fight people to compel their obedience without Allah’s command, or deem their blood, wealth, and homes lawful to take without Allah’s permission.
Anyone who claimed that Allah had commanded him to do this and then did it, when Allah had not commanded him to do so, would be a liar, a fabricator, and a wrongdoer:
“Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or says, ‘It has been revealed to me,’ when nothing has been revealed to him?”
Besides being a wrongdoer and a fabricator, he would be among the foremost seekers of domination and corruption on earth, and would be more wicked than tyrannical, oppressive kings. For tyrannical kings who fight people to compel their obedience do not say, “We are Allah’s messengers to you; whoever obeys us will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys us will enter the Fire.” Even Pharaoh and his like do not make such claims. Only a truthful prophet or a lying claimant to prophethood, such as Musaylimah, al-Aswad, and their like, makes such claims.
Thus, once it is known that he is a prophet, in whatever capacity, it necessarily follows that everything he reports from Allah is true. If he is Allah’s Messenger, he must be obeyed in everything he commands, as Allah Most High says:
“We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by Allah’s permission.”
And if he states that he is Allah’s Messenger to the People of the Book
