Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

For it is not permissible for a person guilty of sinful misconduct to reside in religious institutions such as lodges, schools and the like, whether his misconduct consists in wronging people and transgressing against them in word and deed, or in violating Allah’s rights in matters between himself and Allah. Both types of offender must be reproved and punished. How, then, can such a person be granted a place in religious institutions and the like? How much more so when the founder has stipulated this, making the obligation all the more emphatic!

Anyone entitled to residence who has been lawfully admitted may not be removed for this unjust purpose or for any other. How, then, can a just person be replaced by a wrongdoer, or a righteous person by a wicked one? Whoever assists in this has assisted in sin and transgression, whether or not he knows the founder’s stipulation.
