He was asked:
A man leased a property to another man for a fixed term. Towards the end of that term, someone else offered a higher rent, so he leased it to him. The first tenant objected, saying, “This property is under lease to me.” Is he entitled to object?
He replied:
If he leased it for the period following the first tenant’s lease, the first tenant has no right to object. And Allah knows best.

A man owns shops occupied by people who have no lease from the owner. Others have now offered several times more for the shops than the current occupants. May the owner lease the shops to them and accept the higher rent?
