He was asked:
A soldier has an allotment, and someone compelled him to lease it to him. He leased it under duress for two hundred dirhams, then showed that it was worth four thousand dirhams. Is this lease valid or not?
He replied:
Praise be to Allah. If he compelled him to enter into the lease without right, it is invalid. If he deceived him, the soldier has the right to rescind the lease. And Allah knows best.
He was asked:
A man collected money for someone at a rate of six dirhams per thousand, whereas the customary rate is twelve dirhams. He incurred expenses in collecting it and was misled by the stipulated terms. What is his position?
He replied:
If the hirer deceived and misled the person he hired into accepting less than the customary rate, with a disparity greater than people ordinarily accept, the latter has the right to demand the customary remuneration.
