He was asked:

A camel driver tethered his camels on grazing land, each location having its own guards. One of his camels was then stolen, and none of the guards was visibly present. Is any liability incurred, or not?

He replied:

Praise be to Allah. If they were hired to guard the camels, they are liable for whatever was lost through their negligence. And Allah knows best.

He—may Allah sanctify his soul—was asked:

A boy of discerning age incurred a debt, and his father and three others stood surety for him with his permission. His father then went away, and the creditor demanded the money from one of the guarantors and compelled him to pay it. May the guarantor who paid recover that amount from the boy, from the property of his absent father, or from his fellow guarantors? Or is the amount he paid simply lost to him?

He replied:

He may recover it from the person for whom he stood surety, for his father’s guarantee on his behalf implies
