Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

He was asked:

A woman sold gold bracelets for a specified price, payable at a specified future date. Is this permissible or not?

He replied:

If they were sold for gold or silver with deferred payment, this is impermissible by agreement of the imams. The bracelets must be returned if they are still available; otherwise, their equivalent must be returned. And Allah knows best.

He was asked:

Is it permissible to sell a hiyāsa on deferred payment at an increased price?

He replied:

A hiyāsa containing gold or silver may not be sold for silver or gold with deferred payment. It may, however, be sold in exchange for goods to be delivered at a specified future date. And Allah knows best.
