they say of the wealth they possess, “This is provision from Genghis Khan,” and thank him for their food and drink. They consider it lawful to kill anyone who opposes what this accursed unbeliever instituted for them—this enemy of Allah, His prophets, His Messenger, and His believing servants.
Thus, this man and others like him among their commanders, even after embracing Islam, aspired to no more than placing Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the same level as this accursed man. It is well known that Musaylimah the Liar caused the Muslims less harm than this man did, yet he claimed to share Muhammad’s messengership. On that account, the Companions deemed it lawful to fight him and his apostate followers. What, then, of someone who, in his outward profession of Islam, places Muhammad on a par with Genghis Khan?
In reality, despite their outward profession of Islam, they exalt the cause of Genghis Khan above that of the Muslims who follow the law of the Quran. They do not fight those who follow what Genghis Khan instituted as they fight the Muslims; rather, they fight the Muslims still more fiercely. Those unbelievers offer him obedience and submission, bring him wealth, and acknowledge his authority as deputy. They disobey his commands only as someone who rebels against a ruler disobeys that ruler.
Yet they wage war against the Muslims and show them the utmost enmity. They demand that the Muslims obey them, surrender their wealth, and submit to what that unbelieving, polytheistic king laid down for them—a king resembling Pharaoh, Nimrod, and their like. Indeed, he wrought even greater corruption on earth than either of them.
Allah Most High said:
