for establishing the upright prophetic call, and may He heal the believers’ hearts through the defeat of their enemies and grant them power over those near and far. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, his family and his Companions, and grant them peace.

The shaykh, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “I wrote the beginning of this letter after the departure of Qāzān and his troops, upon my return from Egypt in Jumādā al-Ākhirah. They had spread word that not one of them remained. Then, when that band remained behind, we devoted our efforts to striving against them, intending to go to our brothers in Hama and urging the commanders to take action, until news reached us that those remaining had withdrawn. So I wrote it in Rajab. Allah knows best. All praise belongs to Allah alone. May Allah bless the noblest of creation, Muhammad, his family and his Companions, and grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment.”
