reward of the Hereafter.” He says:
“And those who emigrated for Allah’s sake after suffering oppression—We shall surely grant them a good abode in this world, but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew.”
“Those who remained patient and put their trust in their Lord.”
He says of Abraham, peace and blessings be upon him:
“We gave him his reward in this world, and in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.”
As for His mention of punishment in this world and the Hereafter, in the surah beginning:
“By those who wrench out forcefully,”
“And those who draw out gently,”
He then says:
“On the Day the quaking blast comes,”
“Followed by the next.”
Thus, He mentions the Resurrection in general terms, then says:
“Has the story of Moses reached you?”
“When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwā,”
“Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed,”
Up to His words:
“Surely in that is a lesson for whoever fears Allah.”
He then describes the beginning of creation and the resurrection in detail, saying:
“Are you more difficult to create, or the heaven which He built?”
Up to His words, Most High:
“Then, when the Great Overwhelming Calamity comes,”
And up to His words, Most High:
“As for whoever transgressed,”
“And preferred the life of this world,”
“Hell will surely be his home.”
“But whoever feared standing before his Lord and restrained his soul from desire,”
“Paradise will surely be his home,”
And so on to the end of the surah.
Likewise, in al-Muzzammil, He says:
“Leave Me to deal with the deniers who enjoy lives of luxury, and give them a little respite.”
“Indeed, with Us are shackles and a blazing Fire,”
“And food that chokes, and a painful punishment,”
Up to His words, Most High:
“Just as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh.”
“But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a severe punishment.”
Likewise, in Surah al-Hāqqah, He recounts the stories of the nations, such as Thamūd, ‘Ād, and Pharaoh.
