which He grants to whom He wills. Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.”

“Your only allies are Allah, His Messenger, and the believers—those who establish prayer, give zakah, and bow down in worship.”

“Whoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and the believers as allies—then surely it is Allah’s party that will prevail.”

Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah bestow blessings and abundant peace upon Muhammad and his family.

He also wrote:

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.

May Allah’s peace, mercy and blessings be upon you. We are enjoying ever-increasing, abundant blessings—all praise and thanks be to Allah. Everything Allah does serves to grant victory to Islam, and this is among Allah’s greatest blessings.

“He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religion. And sufficient is Allah as a witness.”

For Satan has employed his party to corrupt Allah’s religion, with which He sent His messengers and revealed His Books.

It is Allah’s established way that, when He wills to make His religion prevail, He raises up those who oppose it. Then He establishes the truth through His words and hurls the truth against falsehood, crushing it—and behold, it vanishes.

(*) Shaykh Nāsir ibn Hamad al-Fahd stated (p. 215): Several points should be noted here: First: The Shaykh sent this letter while imprisoned in the citadel of Damascus, near the end of his life, shortly before his death. It was written in charcoal, as mentioned in al-ʿUqūd, p. 380, which I believe is the source. Second: Parts of the original letter were illegible, and the Shaykh’s companions to whom it was sent could not read them because it was written in charcoal. This concerns the following passage (28/59): “This is a major matter of great significance. You will surely learn its news after a time. He then said further on: They were asking for the completion of al-Ikhnāʾiyya…” The original passage, as given in al-ʿUqūd, p. 381, reads: “This is a major matter of great significance. You will surely learn its news after a time. The Shaykh then wrote some words on the sheet that could not all be read because they had become obliterated. After this he said: They were asking for the completion of al-Akhnāʾiyya…”

يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ} {إنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُونَ} {وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَإِنَّ حِزْبَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ} . والسلام عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا. وَكَتَبَ أَيْضًا: (*) بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سَلَامُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَنَحْنُ لِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ وَالشُّكْرُ فِي نِعَمٍ مُتَزَايِدَةٍ مُتَوَافِرَةٍ وَجَمِيعُ مَا يَفْعَلُهُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ نَصْرُ الْإِسْلَامِ وَهُوَ مِنْ نِعَمِ اللَّهِ الْعِظَامِ. {هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا} فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ اسْتَعْمَلَ حِزْبَهُ فِي إفْسَادِ دِينِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي بَعَثَ بِهِ رُسُلَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ بِهِ كُتُبَهُ. وَمِنْ سُنَّةِ اللَّهِ: أَنَّهُ إذَا أَرَادَ إظْهَارَ دِينِهِ أَقَامَ مَنْ يُعَارِضُهُ فَيُحِقُّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَيَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ.

(*) قال الشيخ ناصر بن حمد الفهد (ص ٢١٥): هنا تنبيهات: الأول: أن هذه الرسالة أرسلها الشيخ وهو في سجن القلعة في دمشق في آخر حياته قبل موته بقليل، وهي مكتوبة بفحم، كما ذكر ذلك في العقود ص ٣٨٠، وأظنه المصدر. الثاني: أن بعض هذه الرسالة مطموس الأصل لم يقرأه أصحاب الشيخ المرسل إليهم، لكتابته على الفحم، وهو المذكور في قوله (٢٨/ ٥٩): (وهذه قضية كبيرة لها شأن عظيم. ولتعلمن نبأه بعد حين. ثم قال بعده: وكانوا يطلبون تمام الإخنائية. . .). وأصل هذا كما في (العقود) ص ٣٨١: (وهذه قضية كبيرة لها شأن عظيم ولتعلمن نبأه بعد حين. ثم ذكر الشيخ في الورقة كلاما لا يمكن قراءة جميعه لانطماسه وقال بعده وكانوا يطلبون تمام الأخنائية. . .)
