However, it is recommended to travel on Thursday, Saturday and Monday, without any prohibition on travelling on other days. The exception concerns Friday, if travelling would cause one to miss the Friday prayer: scholars differ on this matter. As for crafts and intercourse, neither is disliked on any day. And Allah knows best.
A Letter from Shaykh al-Islām—May Allah Sanctify His Soul—to His Companions While He Was Imprisoned in Alexandria
He said:
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
“And proclaim the blessings of your Lord.”
What I wish to tell the brethren—may Allah be gracious to them in this world and the Hereafter, and perfect His outward and inward blessings upon them—is that, by Allah the Magnificent, besides whom there is no god, I am enjoying blessings from Allah unlike any I have experienced in my entire life. Allah, glorified and exalted is He, has opened doors of His bounty and blessing, and treasures of His generosity and mercy, that had never entered my mind or crossed my imagination—things beyond the reach of sight. Allah Most High has made them accessible, until they have become places of repose. Those who have some share in knowing Allah, affirming His oneness, understanding the realities of faith, and possessing the knowledge and faith sought by the earliest and latest generations know something of these blessings through direct experience.
