He replied:
Praise be to Allah. Rather, the attribution of the shrine in Cairo to al-Husayn ibn ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with them both—is a fabricated lie. There is no disagreement about this among the recognized scholars to whom Muslims turn in such matters because of their knowledge and truthfulness.
No named scholar known for learning and truthfulness is reported to have said that this shrine’s attribution is authentic. Some people merely repeat it as a statement attributed to an unknown person, in the manner of those who recount the claims of the Rāfidah and other such purveyors of falsehood. They transmit reports and stories and recount doctrines and opinions. Yet when you ask them who said these things and transmitted them, they have no secure basis to fall back on. They name no one known for truthfulness in what he transmits or knowledge of what he says.
Rather, their ultimate basis is to say, “The true group has reached a consensus.” They consider themselves the true group and regard themselves as the believers, while regarding the rest of the Muslim community as unbelievers.
