Ibn ‘Umar, who said that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said:
‘Whoever performs Hajj and then visits me after my death, it is as though he visited me during my lifetime.’”
Yahyā ibn Ma‘īn said of Hafs: “He is not trustworthy. His Quranic recitation is more accurate than that of Abū Bakr ibn ‘Ayyāsh, but Abū Bakr is more trustworthy than he is.” In another report from him: “Hafs was the more accomplished Quran reciter, but Abū Bakr was truthful, whereas Hafs was a liar.”
