In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

The servant, ever in need of Allah Most High, declares, after praising Allah, whose blessings abound and whose favours are longstanding, and invoking blessings upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers, Muhammad—may Allah bless him and all his family and Companions:

Allah Most High has bestowed His favour upon His servants and graciously extended His mercy to His lands by entrusting the affairs of Muhammad’s community and the reins of the upright faith to one whom He has endowed with the finest qualities of soul and the fullest spiritual felicity: one who revives the ways of justice and manifests the ways of generosity; who holds fast to Allah’s rope, relies upon Allah, finds sufficiency in Allah’s blessings, upholds Allah’s commands, draws strength from Allah’s might, and seeks illumination through Allah’s light. May Allah strengthen his sovereignty and exalt his standing above all other kings. May the nations ever bow to his commands and the people submit to his decrees. May whoever supports his rule ever be strengthened through obedience to him, and whoever opposes his might be disgraced, condemned, and driven away.

It is therefore hoped, through the graciousness of the august court—may Allah Most High increase its eminence and honour—that the scholars, who are the heirs of the prophets and the choicest of the elect
