He was asked:

“Is the soil in which the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was buried superior to the Sacred Mosque?”

He replied:

As for the “soil” in which the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was buried, I know of no one who has said that it is superior to the Sacred Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, or al-Aqsā Mosque except al-Qādī 'Iyād. He stated that there was consensus on this, yet, as far as we know, no one before him had expressed this view. There is no evidence to support it. Rather, the body of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is superior to the mosques.

As for that in which he was created or buried, his being superior does not necessarily mean that what he was created from is superior. No one says that the body of his father, 'Abd Allāh, is superior to the bodies of the prophets, for Allah brings the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living. Noah was a noble prophet, whereas his son who drowned was a disbeliever. Abraham was the intimate friend of the Most Merciful, whereas his father Āzar was a disbeliever.
