He—may Allah have mercy on him—also said:
Offering an Eid sacrifice is part of reasonable expenditure. Thus, a sacrifice may be offered on behalf of an orphan using the orphan’s own funds. A woman may take from her husband’s money enough to offer a sacrifice on behalf of the household, even without his permission. A debtor may offer a sacrifice if repayment has not been demanded of him, and a person may borrow to offer a sacrifice if he has the means to repay.
He was asked:
Should someone who cannot afford an Eid sacrifice borrow money for it?
He replied:
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds. If he has the means to repay and borrows money to offer a sacrifice, that is good, but he is not obliged to do so. And Allah knows best.
