Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

The meat of land game is lawful for you while you are in ihrām, provided you have not hunted it yourselves and it has not been hunted for you.” Al-Shāfiʿī said: “This is the best hadith on this subject and the most consistent with legal analogy.”

This is the position of Mālik, Ahmad, al-Shāfiʿī and others. They differed only over game hunted for a particular person in ihrām: is it permissible for others in ihrām to eat it? There are two views on this, both represented as juristic positions within the school of Ahmad, may Allah Most High have mercy on him.
