In Sahīh Muslim, Tāwūs relates from ʿĀ’isha:
“She entered ihrām for umrah, but after arriving, her menses began before she had circumambulated the House. She performed all the rites, having entered ihrām for Hajj. On the day of departure, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to her, ‘Your tawāf suffices for both your Hajj and your umrah.’ But she declined, so he sent her with ʿAbd al-Rahmān to al-Tanʿīm, and she performed umrah after Hajj.”
Muslim also relates through Mujāhid, from ʿĀ’isha:
“Her menses began at Sarif, and she became pure at ʿArafa. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to her, ‘Your traversal between Safā and Marwa suffices for both your Hajj and your umrah.’”
In Sunan Abī Dāwūd, ʿAtā’ relates from ʿĀ’isha:
“The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to her, ‘Your circumambulation of the House and traversal between Safā and Marwa suffice for both your Hajj and your umrah.’”
In the two Sahīhs, Jābir said:
“The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon ʿĀ’isha and found her weeping. She said, ‘My menses have begun. The people have left ihrām, but I have not, and I have not circumambulated the House.’ He said, ‘Bathe, then enter ihrām for Hajj.’ She did so and stood at all the prescribed stations. Once she became pure, she circumambulated the Kaaba and traversed between Safā and Marwa. He then said, ‘You have now left ihrām for both your Hajj and your umrah.’
“She said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I feel troubled that I did not circumambulate the House when I performed Hajj.’ He said, ‘Take her, ʿAbd al-Rahmān, and have her perform umrah from al-Tanʿīm.’ This was on the night of al-Hasba.”
Thus, in the authentic hadith, ʿĀ’isha stated that those who combined Hajj and umrah performed no circumambulation of the House or traversal between Safā and Marwa other than the initial ones performed by
