Chapter One:

Reports they have narrated concerning the divine attributes, beyond those found in the Islamic hadith collections, which we know with absolute certainty to be lies and slander—indeed, heinous disbelief. They may also utter statements of disbelief for which they narrate no hadith.

One example is a report they narrate:

“Allah descends towards evening on the day of ‘Arafah upon a dark-grey camel, shaking hands with those who are riding and embracing those on foot.”

This is among the greatest lies against Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Whoever says it is among the worst of those who speak falsely about Allah. No Muslim scholar has ever narrated this report; rather, Muslim scholars and hadith experts unanimously agree that it is falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Scholars such as Ibn Qutaybah and others have said that this report and others like it were fabricated by unbelieving heretics to discredit the scholars of hadith by claiming that they narrate such things.

Likewise, another report states:

“When he departed from Muzdalifah, he saw his Lord walking ahead of the pilgrims, wearing a woollen robe.”

Or something resembling this slander and fabrication against Allah, which no one who knows Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would utter.
