but Allah is not blind in one eye. Between the Dajjāl’s eyes is written ‘disbeliever’—k f r—which every believer can read, whether literate or illiterate. Know that none of you will see his Lord until he dies.”
It is also established in an authentic hadith that he said:
“When any of you sits during prayer, let him seek refuge in Allah from four things, saying: ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the trial of the false messiah, the Dajjāl.’”
He, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, also said:
“The Hour will not come until thirty lying impostors appear, each claiming to be the Messenger of Allah.”
He, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Before the Hour, there will be lying impostors who tell you things that neither you nor your forefathers have heard. Beware of them.”
The devils descend upon these people and inspire them, as Allah Most High says:
“Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? They descend upon every sinful liar. They pass on what they hear, and most of them are liars.”
Among the earliest of these people to appear was al-Mukhtār ibn Abī ʿUbayd, mentioned previously.
Whoever fails to distinguish between satanic states and states bestowed by the Most Merciful is like someone who equates Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, with Musaylimah the Liar. Musaylimah had a devil who would descend upon him and inspire him.
