He was asked:
A man underwent bloodletting because of a headache while fasting. Does this invalidate his fast and require him to make up that day, or not? If he is informed that undergoing bloodletting invalidates his fast, is he sinful for doing so, or not?
He replied:
Praise be to Allah. This issue is disputed within Ahmad’s school and elsewhere. The more cautious course is for him to make up that day. Allah knows best.
He was asked:
Does bloodletting during the month of Ramadan invalidate the fast, or not?
He replied:
If he can postpone bloodletting, he should do so. If he needs it because of an illness, he may undergo it, and he must make up the fast according to one of the two scholarly opinions. Allah knows best.
وَسُئِلَ:
عَنْ رَجُلٍ افْتَصَدَ بِسَبَبِ وَجَعِ رَأْسِهِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ هَلْ يُفْطِرُ وَيَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ؟ أَمْ لَا؟ وَهَلْ إذَا أُعْلِمَ أَنَّهُ يُفْطِرُ إذَا افْتَصَدَ يَأْثَمُ أَمْ لَا؟
فَأَجَابَ:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةُ فِيهَا نِزَاعٌ فِي مَذْهَبِ أَحْمَد وَغَيْرِهِ وَالْأَحْوَطُ أَنَّهُ يَقْضِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ. وَاَللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
وَسُئِلَ:
عَنْ الْفِصَادِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ هَلْ يُفْسِدُ الصَّوْمَ؟ أَمْ لَا؟
فَأَجَابَ:
إنْ أَمْكَنَهُ تَأْخِيرُ الْفِصَادِ أَخَّرَهُ وَإِنْ احْتَاجَ إلَيْهِ لِمَرَضٍ افْتَصَدَ وَعَلَيْهِ الْقَضَاءُ فِي أَحَدِ قَوْلَيْ الْعُلَمَاءِ. وَاَللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
