As for you—may Allah set you right—Allah has blessed you with belonging to Islam, which is His religion, and has spared you the afflictions of those outside Islam, among the polytheists and the People of the Book. Islam is the greatest and most exalted of blessings, for Allah accepts no other religion from anyone:

“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.”

Through your adherence to the Sunnah, Allah has also spared you most misleading innovations, including many of the innovations of the Rāfidah, Jahmiyyah, Kharijites, and Qadariyyah. He has instilled in you a hatred for those who deny Allah’s names and attributes, His decree and predestination, or revile the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—a hatred consistent with the way of the people of the Sunnah and the Community. This is among Allah’s greatest blessings upon those whom He has favoured with it, for it is part of the fullness of faith and the perfection of religion.

For this reason, righteous and devout people, as well as warriors who strive in Allah’s cause, have been so numerous among you that their like is not found among the groups of religious innovators. Within the victorious Muslim armies and the divinely supported troops of Allah, there have always been men from among you through whom Allah strengthens the religion and brings honour to the believers. Among your ascetics and worshippers are those who possess pure spiritual states, follow a pleasing path, and are granted spiritual disclosures and extraordinary feats.
