As for what Allah has revealed concerning the martyr’s life and provision, and what is related in authentic hadith about their souls entering Paradise, some groups have held that this applies exclusively to martyrs, to the exclusion of the eminently truthful and others.
The correct view, held by the leading scholars and the vast majority of Ahl al-Sunnah, is that life, provision, and the souls’ entry into Paradise are not exclusive to martyrs, as the established texts indicate. The martyr is singled out for mention because someone might suppose that he will die and consequently shrink from jihad. Allah therefore revealed this to remove what might deter people from undertaking jihad and facing martyrdom. Similarly, He forbade killing children for fear of poverty because that is what occurs in practice, although killing them is also forbidden when there is no fear of poverty.
