Allah upon those He censured among the People of the Book who altered their Scripture, when He said:

“And when a Messenger from Allah came to them, confirming what was with them, a group of those who had been given the Scripture cast the Book of Allah behind their backs, as though they did not know.”

“And they followed what the devils recited over…”—up to His words—“How wretched was that for which they sold themselves, if only they knew.”

And Allah, Glorified and Exalted, knows best.

As for the nature of the jinn and their speech not having become clear to him, their existence is not denied on account of his lack of knowledge. Their existence is established in many ways besides the evidence of the Quran and Sunnah. Some people have seen them; others have seen those who have seen them, and this has become established for them through reports and certain knowledge. Some people have spoken to them, and they have spoken in return. Others command them, forbid them, and exercise authority over them. This occurs among both the righteous and the unrighteous.
